This is still a possibility and an important reference to the inspiration I have received through the land-art work of Andy Goldsworthy. What emerged while on the residency in this regard was unexpected and remains a work in progress. Bristle is a complicated suspension of bamboo branches (that borrows a beautiful cantilevered mechanical solution I saw in a traditional Venezuelan folk mobile). It is a ghostly recreation of a bamboo forest, which is a mysterious thing in its own right. In its final execution I hope to achieve an eerie animate quality by a reaction of the work to bristle towards the viewers whereabouts when they reveal their presence. Spooky!
