Paul Edmunds, an old friend and source of professional envy and inspiration, put me forward for my first public display. It was a group show made up of emerging artists suggested by established critics and curators.

I made this work as a tribute to Andy Goldsworthy who has made many packed stone cairns. This was an investigation of the possibilities of packing stone using tension and precise tethering rather than gravity. It was well received and sold to a private buyer in Cape Town.
