On being accepted to show on Spier Contemporary 2007, Clive Van den Berg encouraged me to utilize the large volume exhibition space available, and this was the largest work I had done at the time.

It was over-ambitious for the time and budget available. 8 days at the top of a rickety scaffold! I roped in all available friends and family, skirted nervous breakdown and made this technically difficult suspension. It describes a vertical matrix of beach rocks that articulate in a fluid ripple across their surface much like a furling flag. It was a temporary installation but was bought in principle by Hollard and I am currently engineering it to be installed as final execution at Hollard House. It is my first experience of large-scale public work, a great challenge for me.
